Meet Maxine... she is a 6 year old blonde Schipperke. She came to Noah's Hope from a local shelter with a long list of medical needs. They told us that she came from a home that had way too many dogs and that her owners deemed her dog aggressive because she didn't always get along with the other dogs in the home. It didn't take us long to figure out why she was kind of crabby. She has horrible dental disease and she had been infested with fleas. She has a right knee that pops out of joint and was likely causing her pain. She had a hernia that was the size of a golf ball and desperate to be repaired. With all that going on she probably didn't feel like playing very much. But now she's with us and she's all fixed up. She's on some mild pain medicine for her leg that will run her new owner about $15 a month. She is freshly groomed, thanks to Crystal at Bark Avenue Dog Grooming & Retail. Now that she's feeling better she is more tolerant of other dogs, but does prefer mellow dogs that don't try to jump on her. She is learning not to potty in the house and doing very well. Her teeth and hernia have received medical attention and she is now spayed. She is current on her vaccinations and is micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $135.
